However, the Interpersonal Mindfulness in Parenting (IM-P) instrument, which possesses strong psychometric properties, has not yet been available in Bahasa. The purpose of this study is to adapt the IM-P instrument into a valid and reliable Indonesian version. The IM-P was translated and adapted into Indonesian, involving a sample of 735 parents (M = 36.63; SD = 7.354) with children aged 3 to 17 years. Using a random sampling procedure, the first sample (n = 367) was used for Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), while the second sample (n = 368) was used for Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The study revealed that the Indonesian version of the IM-P consists of 20 items and 4 dimensions: Emotional Awareness of Self and Child, Self-Regulation in Parenting, Non-judgmental and Compassion for Child, and Non-judgmental and Compassion for Self. Overall, the IM-P Indonesia demonstrated good reliability. Additionally, the IM-P Indonesia showed a significant negative correlation with parenting stress, except for the dimension of Non-judgmental and Compassion for Self. These findings suggest that the IM-P is a valid and reliable measure for use within the Indonesian population.
Khairunnisa Fahira Dumbi, Carrenina Prilly Juaninda, Luh Surini Yulia Savitri (Author) Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Ilmu Keluarga dan Konsumen http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/jikk/article/view/57412 Mon, 13 Jan 2025 15:46:12 +0700 THE URGE TO OPTIMIZE THINKING PROCESS: THE INFLUENCE OF PARENT AND PEER ATTACHMENT ON PROBLEMATIC INTERNET USE (PIU) MEDIATED BY EXECUTIVE FUNCTION https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/jikk/article/view/55473
Attachment relationships are shaped by higher-order cognitive abilities that help individuals regulate their behavior, including internet usage, which is a prevalent activity among students. The purpose of this study is to assess the mediating role of executive function (EF) in the relationship between individual attachment and problematic internet use (PIU) behavior. EF is believed to serve as a buffer against the negative effects of weak attachment between individuals and their parents or peers, thereby helping to suppress PIU behavior. This study employed a quantitative research design with 127 college students from DKI Jakarta. Convenience sampling was used to select participants. Attachment was measured using the Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment – Revision (IPPA-R), PIU was assessed using the Indonesian Problematic Internet Use Scale (IPIUS), and EF was evaluated using the Amsterdam Executive Function Inventory (AEFI). The mediation regression analysis revealed a significant indirect effect of attachment to parents on PIU, mediated by EF. It is recommended that parents foster early interactions with their children to optimize their cognitive development and take peer influences into consideration when supporting their children’s behavior regulation.
Yuliana Mukti Rahmawati, Adiyo Roebiyanto (Author) Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Ilmu Keluarga dan Konsumen http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/jikk/article/view/55473 Mon, 13 Jan 2025 15:47:26 +0700 PERSEPSI RISIKO, FINANCIAL SELF-EFFICACY DAN MINAT INVESTASI EMAS PADA GENERASI Z https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/jikk/article/view/50652
Irni Rahmayani Johan, Shafa Ariella Azarian (Author) Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Ilmu Keluarga dan Konsumen http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/jikk/article/view/50652 Mon, 13 Jan 2025 15:48:07 +0700 PERAN MODERASI RELIGIOUS COPING TERHADAP HUBUNGAN RESILIENSI DAN KUALITAS HIDUP PADA PEREMPUAN DENGAN INFERTILITAS https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/jikk/article/view/57523
WHO Quality of Life Brief).
Lisyanti, Grace Kilis (Author) Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Ilmu Keluarga dan Konsumen http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/jikk/article/view/57523 Mon, 13 Jan 2025 15:49:06 +0700 THE ROLE OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE IN MODERATING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PERCEIVED INTERPARENTAL CONFLICT AND MARITAL SATISFACTION AMONG MARRIED INDIVIDUALS https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/jikk/article/view/59271
The experience of growing up in a conflict-ridden family significantly influences individuals' views on marriage, emotion regulation, and the development of certain relationship patterns, which may either reflect or deviate from their parents' conflict-handling behaviors. This study examines the role of emotional intelligence in moderating the relationship between perceived parental conflict and marital satisfaction. This correlational quantitative study included 346 married men and women (M = 30.7, SD = 5.77), selected through purposive sampling. Marital satisfaction was measured using the Couple Satisfaction Index-16 (CSI-16), perceived parental conflict with the PIC-I/F, and emotional intelligence with the Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire Short Form (TEIQUE-SF). Data were analyzed using simple moderation techniques with the PROCESS model. Results showed a significant negative correlation between individual perceptions of parental conflict and marital satisfaction. However, emotional intelligence did not moderate this relationship. This suggests that even individuals with high emotional intelligence continue to experience the negative impact of perceived parental conflict on marital satisfaction, with no significant reduction in its effect.
Rahelda Defanti, Lathifah Hanum, Cantyo A. The current study aims to develop a scale to assess mindful parenting in preschool children aged 3 to 5 (Mindful Parenting in Preschoolers/MPP) using a situational judgment test that can be completed by both parents. A total of 307 Indonesian parents aged 24–54 years old (M = 33.1, SD = 4.73) completed the 42 pooled items of the MPP. Psychometric testing was conducted to obtain the final version of the MPP with 30 items. Factor analysis revealed a three-factor structure, awareness, compassion, and non-reactivity, differing from the proposed model. Overall, the MPP demonstrates good internal consistency, and validity testing showed a significant negative correlation with parenting stress as a convergent criterion. The statistical performance of individual dimensions remains inadequate following scale reduction, necessitating further refinement and additional data collection. Despite these limitations, the MPP is a promising tool that offers a different test format compared to most currently available mindful parenting measurements.
Afifah At Thohiroh, Mutia Aulia Dewi , Dewi Maulina, Nabilah Maghfirah Maulani, Riska Faradila, Tahlia Latifah (Author) Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Ilmu Keluarga dan Konsumen http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/jikk/article/view/59514 Tue, 25 Mar 2025 00:00:00 +0700 KETIDAKPUASAN TUBUH DAN FAMILY FAT TALK: STUDI PADA PEREMPUAN DEWASA MUDA TIONGHOA DI INDONESIA https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/jikk/article/view/60418
A survey method was used to measure the perceptions of 256 Indonesian college students regarding their parents’ parenting profiles using the Helicopter Parenting Instrument – Short Version (HPI-S) and their SRL using the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ). The results indicate that HP significantly contributes to the development of SRL among Indonesian college students. This finding contradicts most previous studies. However, further analysis suggests that a significant portion of SRL variability remains unexplained by HP and may be influenced by other factors. Culture emerges as a crucial factor deserving attention and is discussed as a key influence on the outcomes of this research.
Caroline Mathilda V.
