Population dynamic of torpedo scad (Megalaspis cordyla Linnaeus, 1758) landed at Labuan Beach Fishing Port, Banten
Aspek dinamika populasi selar tetengkek (Megalaspis cordyla Linnaeus, 1758) yang didaratkan di Pelabuhan Perikanan Pantai Labuan, Banten
Abstract
The torpedo scad fish (Megalaspis cordyla) is one that landed in PPP Labuan Banten. The increasing catch and fishing effort of torpedo scad, could threaten the existence of fish stocks in waters. The aim of this study is to analyze of population dynamics of torpedo scad in Sunda Strait which landed in PPP Labuan Banten. The study conducted in April to August 2015. The torpedo scad observed frequency distribution has a length of 96–450 mm. Length of maturity (Lm) the torpedo scad females and males are 373 mm and 418 mm. Length at first capture (Lc) for female and male are 242 mm and 221 mm. The value of the asymtotic lenght (L∞) is 468.3 mm. The exploitation rate of female and male torpedo scad are 0,92 and 0,80. That values indicates torpedo scad resources has experienced overfished.
