Trade in agricultural products between ASEAN countries in terms of exports has gradually increased, but exports out of the region are very large. The lower export ratio in the ASEAN region can be due to ASEAN's highly competitive agricultural products, but this cannot increase the import ratio between countries. This condition explains that the utilization of opportunities in trade activities in the ASEAN region has not been optimal. The purpose of the study is to determine the factors that influence the flow of trade in agricultural products between ASEAN countries. The data used by researchers are secondary data in the agricultural sector for the period 2013 to 2022 with variables of GDP of each country in ASEAN, GDP per capita, population, economic distance, and exchange rate. The data is processed with a gravity model approach. The results showed that the independent variables that had a positive and significant effect were the population of the country of origin, population of the partner country, GDP per capita of the country of origin and GDP per capita of the partner country, while economic distance had a negative influence on the model of trade flow of agricultural products between ASEAN countries. To support the flow of trade in agricultural products, it is necessary to rigid port infrastructure development in each country in the ASEAN region by increasing port capacity, port development, and facilities and infrastructure that support the efficiency of the export process and import of agricultural products. Improving the quality of agricultural products needs to be done to be in accordance with the standards of export destination countries and able to compete.
Fitri Hidayah Laila Pohan Amzul Rifin Rita Nurmalina Copyright (c) 2024 Forum Agribisnis : Agribusiness Forum https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2024-03-21 2024-03-21 14 1 1 7 10.29244/fagb.14.1.1-7 Strategi Pengembangan Usaha Pelatihan Hidroponik Di Kota Bogor https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/fagb/article/view/52445
Hydroponics is a method of cultivating plants without soil that is popular with Indonesian people. Its spread in Indonesia is supported by information openness via the internet and social media. Internet users reaching 77.2% have created a demand for hydroponic training. The urgency of training services is needed because hydroponic cultivation requires special skills. In the city of Bogor, there are business units that provide hydroponic training with limited face-to-face services which are very vulnerable to schedule limitations and social restriction policies by the government. The aim of this research is to formulate a strategy for developing a hydroponics training business in the city of Bogor. The approach uses qualitative methods with the Business Model Canvas framework to map digitalization adaptation and describe existing business models. Alternative strategies are formulated using SWOT analysis which combines internal strategic issues in the form of strengths and weaknesses with external strategic issues in the form of opportunities and threats. The formulated alternative strategy is implemented into the prototype canvas business model. CRI analysis is carried out to support SWOT analysis to obtain input based on responses from consumers. The research results found that digital adaptation was limited to business model marketing channels. Strength strategic issues lie in segmentation based on demand, service flexibility, and digital marketing adaptation. The weakness issue is dependence on one product and dependence on business partners. Strategic issues of opportunity are opportunities for product diversification, new partnerships, and conversion of training into digital products. The strategic threat issue is the opportunistic risk of business partners. The formulation of an alternative strategy recommends diversifying service products by adding services that are still in the hydroponics business line.
Muhammad Alief Syuja' Hakim Lukman M. The productivity fluctuations indicate production risks. This research aims to analyze the factors that influence the productivity and risks of garlic production in Indonesia. The data used in this study is secondary data from BPS 2014 in the three largest production centers, namely Central Java, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara, with a total sample of 305 farmer respondents from 333 farmer respondents. The method used in this study is a multiple linear regression model with the Just and Pope model approach. Multiple linear regression analysis for the productivity function is estimated through the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method, whereas for the production risk function, estimation is conducted using the Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) method. The results showed that the risk level of garlic production in Indonesia was high. Factors significantly increased productivity, including seeds, labor, the dry season, and climate change. Meanwhile, factors that significantly reduced productivity are organic fertilizers and SP36 fertilizers. The risk-inducing production factor is climate change, while the risk-reducing factors are pest attacks and liquid pesticides. To boost productivity, farmers can cultivate garlic during the dry season, increase the use of high-quality seedlings and labor, and reduce the application of organic and SP36 fertilizers. To mitigate production risks, farmers can enhance the use of liquid pesticides following recommended usage standards.
Putri Febrilla Solehah Anna Fariyanti Copyright (c) 2024 Forum Agribisnis : Agribusiness Forum https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2024-03-21 2024-03-21 14 1 18 34 10.29244/fagb.14.1.18-34 Faktor–Faktor Yang Memengaruhi Kinerja Usaha Pelaku Usaha Tempe Kampung Rawa Jakarta Pusat https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/fagb/article/view/50353
Entrepreneurship is closely related to the development of Small and Medium
Enterprises (SMEs), including SMEs processing soybeans into tempeh. Cocoa is one of the leading commodities struggling for export. Indonesian cocoa exports have changed in composition, cocoa butter contributes the largest export when compared to exports of other Indonesian processed cocoa products. The increasing world cocoa consumption will be an opportunity for Indonesia to increase cocoa butter exports. This study aims to: (1) Analyse the competitiveness of Indonesian cocoa butter exports in the international market based on comparative advantages. (2) Analyse the competitiveness of Indonesian cocoa butter exports in the international market based on competitive advantages. The object of this study focuses on the position and competitiveness of Indonesian cocoa butter exports in the international market by comparing the largest exporting countries on cocoa butter (HS 1804). The analysis methods used in this study were RCA, Product Mapping, and ECI The results of RCA analysis showed that Indonesian cocoa butter exports have comparative advantages and based on Product Mapping analysis, Indonesian cocoa butter exports are in group A, which means they have comparative advantages and export specialization. The results of the ECI analysis showed that cocoa butter exports have a competitive advantage and showed that Indonesia's cocoa butter exports have an upward trend. Indonesia has the opportunity to become a major country in dominating the cocoa butter market in the international market both in terms of comparative and competitive advantages. For this reason, in increasing competitiveness, efforts are needed to improve the quality of cocoa beans so that it will have an impact on the downstream industry, one of which is cocoa butter. There is also a need for further analysis of what factors affect the export of cocoa butter in Indonesia and its competitors.
Aldianti Nurwansyah Candra Nuraini Dwi Apriyani Copyright (c) 2024 Forum Agribisnis : Agribusiness Forum https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2024-03-22 2024-03-22 14 1 50 58 10.29244/fagb.14.1.50-58 Daya Saing Dan Komplementaritas Perdagangan Kayu Indonesia: Kasus Kawasan Asia-Pasifik https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/fagb/article/view/52435
Indonesia trades ten groups of wood in the Asia-Pacific region. Many forest industry problems occur during trade. Competition and interdependence in trade are research objectives. The research secondary data source is taken from UN Comtrade 2011-2021 and analyzed using the Export Similarity Index (ESI), Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Trade Complementarity Index (TCI), and Intra-Industry Trade (IIT) methods. The research results show that the wood export trade between Indonesia and competing countries competes weakly with each other in the six partner countries. Indonesia is competitive in the products SITC 245 (fuel wood (excluding wood waste) and wood charcoal), SITC 248 (wood, simply worked, and railway sleepers of wood), SITC 251 (pulp and waste paper), SITC 634 (veneers, plywood, particle board, and other wood, worked, n.e.s.), SITC 635 (wood manufactures, n.e.s.), and SITC 641 (paper and paperboard). On the other hand, Indonesia and partner countries almost complement each other as trading partners in terms of exports and imports of wood. However, the integration of Indonesian wood trade with partner countries is considered weak. Products SITC 248 (wood, simply worked, and railway sleepers of wood), SITC 251 (pulp and waste paper), SITC 641 (paper and paperboard), and SITC 642 (paper and paperboard, cut to size or shape, and articles of paper or paperboard) are several product industries that have led to intra-industry trade. Policy recommendations are to utilize resources optimally, develop the wood processing industry to produce finished wood products, and improve the quality and standards of wood products in accordance with policies in trade cooperation.
Ria Indah Saraswati Harianto Amzul Rifin Copyright (c) 2024 Forum Agribisnis : Agribusiness Forum https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2024-03-26 2024-03-26 14 1 59 71 10.29244/fagb.14.1.59-71 Keputusan Pembelian Dan Determinan Yang Memengaruhi Ekuitas Merek Madu Kemasan Madurasa https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/fagb/article/view/50349
Honey is a secondary food product which included in nutraceutical products with health functions for human body. Broiler chicken is one source of protein that is often consumed. Broiler production in Madiun Regency is not sufficient, so it is necessary to increase production through broiler farming. This study aims to identify the feasibility of broiler business investment. The location of the research was Madiun Regency and the research was conducted in May-June 2023. Respondents were taken by purposive sampling by taking 30 respondents from closed and open house systems. The non-financial feasibility analysis used market aspects, technical aspects, management and legal aspects, social, economic and cultural aspects, and environmental aspects. Based on non-financial aspects, the closed house system does not fulfill the environmental aspects and the location of the cage is too close to residential areas. Financial analysis using NPV, Net BC, IRR, PP and switching value sensitivity analysis. The results of the financial feasibility study with an interest rate of 6% and a business life of 10 years, the closed house and open house cage systems are feasible. The closed house has higher NPV, IRR, Net B/C and PP values than the open house, so the closed house system is more profitable than the open house. The results of the switching value sensitivity analysis of both types of cages have the most sensitive changes to the business in the form of decreased production, decreased prices and increased feed costs. Partnership system broiler farmers are unable to regulate selling prices and feed prices, so the only way to keep the business viable is to maintain the resulting production. Therefore, farmers must be able to master good production management and cage management to produce maximum broiler production.
Muhammad Surya Fadhlurrohman Andriyono Kilat Adhi Rita Nurmalina Copyright (c) 2024 Forum Agribisnis : Agribusiness Forum https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2024-03-26 2024-03-26 14 1 99 111 10.29244/fagb.14.1.99-111 Metode Dan Media Pada Penyuluhan Teknologi Budidaya Padi Sistem Tanam Jajar Legowo 4:1 https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/fagb/article/view/49721
The application of technology by farmers is one of the keys to success in increasing crop productivity.
