CONSTRUCTION OF FEEDING EQUIPMENT SYSTEM OF PIPE TALANG (Automatic Feeder) IN CULTIVATION OF SHRIMP (Caridea)
Abstract
The feed spread system that has been used by shrimp cultivators is by spreading the feed around the pond area by rowing using a boat or by circling the pond while carrying feed, this is deemed ineffective because the energy required in feeding using this method is very large so that the Farmers often experience fatigue which means a lot, therefore it is necessary to have a tool that can be used to help shrimp cultivators in providing feed to shrimp, one of which is by using a feeder with a pipe gutter system (Automatic feeder). This research was conducted for 3 (three) months starting from June to August 2019 at the Dumai Marine and Fisheries Polytechnic Workshop. The purpose of this research is to find out how the construction and working steps of the automatic feeder system shrimp feeder. The method used in this research is an experimental method, namely making, testing and applying these tools at the Dumai Marine and Fisheries Polytechnic Workshop. The results showed that this tool has been successfully made and applied with a fiber tub with a capacity of 2 tons with a water height of approximately 3 cm. The feed is prepared in the tool as much as 20 grams, then this tool is operated so that the feed can fall to the bottom of the tub properly and evenly. This automatic feeder system has several advantages and disadvantages, both from a technical, economic, social and cultural perspective. Keywords: Construction, Pipe gutter, Shrimp Fiber tubDownloads
