Trade Distribution Patterns and Transportation and Trading Margin (MPP) of Local and Imported Soybean Commodities in West Java Province in 2022
Downloads
The trade distribution pattern describes how a commodity moves from the producer to the final consumer through intermediary traders, each earning a transportation and trading margin (MPP). When more intermediary traders are involved, the distribution chain becomes longer and the total MPP increases, potentially leading to higher consumer prices. West Java is the third-largest soybean-producing province in Indonesia. However, due to the high demand for soybeans, particularly as raw materials for the tofu and tempeh industry, imported soybeans are often utilized as a solution. This research aims to analyze the trade distribution patterns and MPP of local and imported soybean commodities in West Java province. The data used is VPDP-23 data sourced from Badan Pusat Statistik. Descriptive statistics are applied in the analysis. The research findings demonstrate that the distribution pattern of soybean commodity trade in West Java is quite efficient.
