Ethics Policy

Jurnal Agribisnis Indonesia adapts the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for ethical questions. This statement includes a code of ethics for writers, editors, and peer reviewer.

1. Originality

Jurnal Agribisnis Indonesia encourages honest and informative debate on various issues to advance understanding in communication; therefore, we are open for manuscripts that challenge other manuscripts have been published in this journal

Authors can only submit original works. Authors may not submit one manuscript to another journal at the same time or when the manuscript is being reviewed. The author must wait for the decision of rejection from the editor or formally request to withdraw the manuscript before submitting it to another journal. The manuscript has never been published before or has been received for publication in other place.

The author must cite all works used in the right way, both in the body of the writing and in the reference list. The author must cite explicitly his previous works which wrote when used in this manuscript. If the author takes the sentence or paragraph exactly from someone else's work, then you must follow the applicable citation rules.

The contents of manuscript must be able to explain the source and originality of the data used in this study, for example data collected through surveys. The author must mention if the data has been used by other authors and whether it has been published or not.

If the author and the manuscript are not in accordance with these guidelines, it will not be published. If ethical violations are found after the manuscript is published, the editor has the right to issue a public explanation and / or withdraw the article.

2. Plagiarism and Self-Plagiarism

All works in the manuscript must be free from plagiarism, fabrication, or data negligence. The editor will support writers whose articles are plagiarism detected or copyright violated. We are ready to work with publishers to protect the rights of authors and pursue actors (for example by requesting the withdrawal or deletion of the article) regardless of whether their journals hold copyright.

The author is expected to cite explicitly the work and ideas of others, even when the work or ideas are cited verbatim or paraphrased. This standard applies to any work that has been or has not been published or provided electronically. If it fails to cite the work of people with the right rules, it will be called plagiarism. Plagiarism in all its forms is unethical and unacceptable behavior.

Redundancy (or "self-plagiarism") is a publishing behavior that is not acceptable. Redundancy can occur in at least two ways: (1) The author recycles parts of their previous writings using identical or same sentences or paragraphs, without cites or acknowledgments; or (2) The author makes several papers that are slightly different from each other, which are sent for publication in different journals but without mentioning other writings.

The author can and often develops different aspects of an argument in several different manuscripts. However, texts that differ primarily in appearance, but are presented as separate and different studies without mentioning other related writings, are attempts (either intentional or intentional) to deceive reviewers and readers by overestimating the intellectual contribution of the text. This is done, because the publication of a text is based on the novelty and innovation of the text, so that such treatment is deemed inappropriate and unethical.

If there are sentences or paragraphs that are similar to other people's writings / works in the text, then the sentence / paragraph must be cited correctly. We will screen all the texts we receive to avoid plagiarism.

3. Reporting Standards

The original research report must be in accordance with the actual work carried out by the author and the actual data obtained. The report must also provide the purpose of the discussion by mentioning the significance of the research. If needed, Jurnal Agribisnis Indonesia will also request the provision of field data or research data for the review process.

4. Ethical Treatment of Humans

Jurnal Agribisnis Indonesia encourages all writers to ensure that no people is harmed by data collection. The approval of the ethics committee for this research must be informed to Jurnal Agribisnis Indonesia, especially those that have the potential to affect the continuity of human life. Failure to obey will be considered unethical and unacceptable.

The responsibility of the editor is to decide which text is worth publishing and decide on the peer reviewer who reviews the manuscript. We use a double-blind peer review policy, which is a policy where information about the author (name, origin of the institution, state origin, place of residence and all other information) will be protected. Manuscript that is in the review process may not be used by anyone without the author's approval.

The editor will evaluate the manuscript based on intellectual benefits. The Jurnal Agribisnis Indonesia does not evaluate the manuscript for reasons other than scientific openness. We do not discriminate between authors based on race, sex, sexual orientation, religion and beliefs, or ethnic. The editor is responsible for responding to complaints and providing ways if there is dissatisfaction encountered by the author or peer reviewer. All complaints can be sent to our e-mail.

To ensure that the Jurnal Agribisnis Indonesia is free from commercial considerations, editors are never permitted to take funds, sponsorships, or other gifts for their own benefit. Each grant and operating budget is provided by Jurnal Agribisnis Indonesia. To ensure the quality of the text, the editor must establish a proofreader who will evaluate the manuscript and provide a final review of the format, grammar, and other technical details.

Peer Reviewer

Peer reviewer responsibility is to help the editors in deciding whether the text must be rejected or revised. As such, they also help writers to improve their texts. Because of the double-blind peer review policy, peer reviewer were never able to see the author's background information. Peer reviewer are not allowed to disclose the contents of the text to anyone without the editor's approval.

Each text submitted will be reviewed by at least two peer reviewers. Their reviews will be the basis of the editor's decision. If necessary, the editors will choose the third peer reviewer before making a decision.
