Section Policies

Penelitian / Research

The research article is a complete review of a research activity or research section with a complete study of topics, containing research or observations that meet scientific principles including experimental design and adequate statistical analysis. The study should meet the bioethics aspects of animal research and welfare. Epidemiological studies and studies of data in the past have fallen into the category of research texts, which must satisfy adequate scientific principles and statistical analysis

Ulasan / Review

The review article is a comprehensive, critical-analytical literature review that provides current information on a topic, or contains forward-looking views of a subject. The review article should provide information from previous studies in full in the form of facts or existing data, submit analysis and critical review of the author to the collection of facts or data, and summarize it into an acceptable view or a which should be used for development in the future. The authors of review articles are preferable to those who do have expertise in their respective fields which is shown by contributions already made in the form of published policies or writings. Teaching review articles in certain topics are still acceptable if deemed necessary.

Studi Kasus / Case Study

The case study article is a report of an event or case in the clinical, pathological and other fields deemed necessary to be published but not sufficient to be written in the form of a research paper. Case studies that provide new information or that may contribute to the existing literature take precedence.

Komunikasi Singkat / Short Communication

Short communication articles, just like case studies, are written about a relatively new idea or research result but are not eligible for publication in the form of research articles. Short communication articles that contain information and useful for scientific or application development take precedence.

Peer Review Process

All manuscript that published in Acta Vet Indones has been reviewed minimal by 2 reviewer of Mitra Bebestari in double blind peer review process.

Introduction to peer review

What is peer review?

Peer review is the system used to assess the quality of a manuscript before it is published. Independent researchers in the relevant research area assess submitted manuscripts for originality, validity and significance to help editors determine whether a manuscript should be published in their journal.

How does it work?

When a manuscript is submitted to a journal, it is assessed to see if it meets the criteria for submission. If it does, the editorial team will select potential peer reviewers within the field of research to peer-review the manuscript and make recommendations.

There are three main types of peer review used by common journal:

Single-blind: the reviewers know the names of the authors, but the authors do not know who reviewed their manuscript unless the reviewer chooses to sign their report.

Double-blind: the reviewers do not know the names of the authors, and the authors do not know who reviewed their manuscript.

Open peer: authors know who the reviewers are, and the reviewers know who the authors are. If the manuscript is accepted, the named reviewer reports are published alongside the article.

Different journals use different types of peer review. You can find out which peer-review system is used by a particular journal in the journal’s ‘About’ page.

Why do peer review?

Peer review is an integral part of scientific publishing that confirms the validity of the manuscript. Peer reviewers are experts who volunteer their time to help improve the manuscripts they review. By undergoing peer review, manuscripts should become:

More robust - peer reviewers may point out gaps in a paper that require more explanation or additional experiments.

Easier to read - if parts of your paper are difficult to understand, reviewers can suggest changes.

More useful - peer reviewers also consider the importance of your paper to others in your field.

How peer review works

The peer review process can be single-blind, double-blind or open.

You can find out which peer review system is used by a particular journal in the journal's 'About' page.
